yay I had my sound effect board I would do an applause and we're fruit loops and we

watched we own this city a document. No, it's not a documentary. It's a show and it's on HBO and it's based on the book by Baltimore Sun reporter. His name is Justin Feton and they wrote we own or no they wrote we got a monster and that's what we watched last month and we were like yeah let's check out

the dramatization of all this nonsense going on in Baltimore and I am glad we did.

The series chronicles the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department gun-traced task force and the corruption and moral collapse that befell in American city in which the policies around drug prohibition and mass arrest were championed at the expense of actual

police work and human beings.

It was directed by Rinaldo Marcus Green, written by David Simon, and HBO has a companion podcast, which leads me to my next point.

Yeah, I listened to it when it first came out and then went back and revisited it and it's just called H it's just called we on the city HBO

podcast or something like that but it's really good and most of the actors are from Baltimore.

Baltimore has a whole economy since the wire started of production and TV and movie

production there.

And so a lot of the crew, a lot of the actors

are from Baltimore.

And a lot of them, I learned on that podcast,

were like kids when the wire was being filmed and they were

like hanging around the set and they let them hang around the set and they

taught them things and they went into the industry.

Yeah, it was really cool.

How full circle that all came.
