I'm sitting here with a little bit of a heavy heart about what's happening in the world.

Yeah, just to acknowledge that.

And the emotions, right, that emotions arise.

It's part of being human.

And this practice offers, how can we find freedom

in the midst of emotions with the emotions?

I know there was a time in my life when I thought, oh, freedom meant I wouldn't have any emotions.

They were too messy and just got in the way.

And I had no small part in my deciding to become a research scientist early in my life.

Because I thought, oh, you know, scientists, clearly they don't have emotions.

Turns out to be ridiculous, but let's certainly know what I've figured or what I thought.
