Summary

Breaking Cycles, Generational Healing and Personal Growth. This week I’m joined by Eldra Jackson, whose story is as powerful as it is inspiring. At 19, Eldra was sentenced to life in prison. What followed was years of violence, solitary confinement and, eventually, the beginning of a journey into deep inner work.

Through the Inside Circle foundation, Eldra found a way to confront his own shadow, take responsibility, and transform his life. Today he helps others do the same – guiding men through the same kind of emotional work that saved him.

We talk about the impact of childhood trauma, the prison system, and what it really means to grow into emotional literacy. Eldra also shares his thoughts on legacy – not in terms of money or status, but in how we live, heal, and pass on something better to the next generation.

So what is the work? It's about facing our shadow. And this is the heart of the work I do in my coaching. And if you'd like to work with me, book a consultation

via the link in the show notes. But first, here is Eldra Jackson. Eldra, it's a pleasure to see

1:04.9

you again. How are you? I'm doing well. I'm doing well. And it's a pleasure to be seen. How you

1:09.9

doing today, Simon? I'm very well. I'm delighted to and it's a pleasure to be seen. How you doing today, Simon?

1:15.9

I'm very well. I'm delighted to see you and I love that answer. It's a pleasure to be seen.

1:22.8

And maybe that comment, or I hope that comment will, the profundity of that comment will become

1:31.3

increasingly relevant as our conversation goes on. But I want to start by saying, and I've said this to you a few times, I have a lot of respect, admiration, or love for you,

1:38.3

even though it's only the second time we've spoken.

1:42.3

You are, you know, a man of, of huge impact and, you know, a natural born

1:49.8

leader, for sure. So I just want to start with that. I just want to throw a little bit of

1:56.7

admiration your way. So I'll let that land.

2:12.4

Okay. And so thank you. And what I will say is I receive that. And, you know, when you say let that land, you know, those sorts of words, when I hear things like that it is not the most

2:22.9

comfortable thing for me to allow to land sure I'm sure and yeah we can dig into that

2:30.3

but it's important to let them land though right yes right? Yes, without a doubt, without a doubt.

2:35.3

Yeah. And I think if they, a lot of us struggle with that. And I think that's, when that

2:41.5

happens, that's, that's quite telling. And, and I think the work we're going to talk about,
