Hey, friends, welcome back to today's episode of Everyday Truth

as we continue our series of lessons

on the good, the bad, and the ugly. And we're in a season of Solomon's reign where it all

seems good. He started out good in the sense that he has sought wisdom and he is embracing

the Davidic covenant. It's good in that he seems to be prioritizing the things that

matter to God, the building of the temple, worshiping the Lord, making wise decisions about the people.

Everything seems to be going so well. And of course, we're going to learn in time to come that Solomon's kingdom did not end well.

He started great, but over time, his heart became more divided, and God eventually had to judge

the kingdom of Solomon.

How sad, how bad, and how ugly. And we'll get to that.

Today, we're in a section where Solomon is continuing to build. He's doing a lot of building

here at the beginning of his reign. He has completed the temple. So now he's 11 years into his reign. He didn't begin the temple until four years in. So four plus seven is 11.

And remember as well that when you read your Bible, it's wise to read beyond the end of a chapter.
