Yesterday, the Trump Organization and its CFO Allen Weiselberg were arraigned on charges

of Grand Larceny, tax fraud, falsifying business records, and more.

In all, there were 15 counts against Weiselberg and the organization.

Prosecutors detailed a deliberate multi-year scheme to avoid taxes on more than $1.7 million

in fringe benefits.

The scheme involved reducing the taxable pay for executives by granting them massive benefits,

such as apartments, cars, parking spaces, which in Manhattan amounts to a second rent, tuition

payments, and other large ticket items.

Which is definitely not okay if those items are not being reported.

It's particularly interesting because the organization actually kept two sets of books

where the full compensation scheme was recorded and basically laid out exactly what they were

doing.

Which totally has serious Donald Trump Jr. tweeting out his own emails with the Russians vibes.

Both Weiselberg and the organization pleaded not guilty to the charges and were released,

though Weiselberg had to turn over his passport.

This clears the path for Trump's financial records to be turned over to investigators.

However, it's likely the prosecutors will need Weiselberg to cooperate in order to

implicate other actors, including potentially Trump himself.
