That's one of those experiences where you're like, hmm, I feel like this has already happened.

It's a weird feeling. But in the Bible, we're seeing a situation that, hmm, seems like that already

happened.

Hello, friends, and welcome back to the studio here in Fredericksburg. So glad you joined us.

We're in First Kings chapter 16. So we're making some progress. And I said last episode that we're in first kings chapter 16 so we're making some progress and i said last episode that we're going to see a striking parallel between the dynasty short-lived dynasty of jeroboam

and his son nadab jerobam ruled for 22 years and then his son ruled for two years, end of the dynasty,

and an inauspicious end because Bay Asha actually conspired and assassinated a Nadab. So sad.

And Ba'asha rules for 24 years. So almost the exact amount of time that Jeroboam did.

But wow, we're going to see some eerily similar things happen.

So look at chapter 16 and verse 1 where it says,

then the word of the Lord came to Jehu, the son of Hanani, against Beasha.

Remember I said last episode that God is so merciful by giving us his word. God doesn't owe us

warnings. When we knowingly sin against the Lord,

God doesn't have to allow us to live on. He doesn't have to allow us to have any second chances.

And yet what we find throughout these really ugly situations is that God continually gives his word and brings his word.

He gives his word to a prophet.
