quick tip of the week so it's that time of year where we've all waited

for the cold weather set in it's finally time to get out there

and start chasing those late season migrating ducks.

Well here's a couple tips to help you out with some of the challenges that you're going to face

along the way.

One of the most important things to deal with

when you're talking about hunting the late season

is weather, and it's taking advantage of those weather

changing events, those big push days,

so whether it's extreme's a you know extreme north and northwest winds or you've got

snow up north is going to push a lot of birds down or colder temperatures in your area

high winds that are going to make birds fly a little bit more.

Those are the days that you want to make sure that you're out in the field and you're taking advantage.

You know, it's so common that you'll see birds raft it up in open water just kind of sitting together and not really doing much. Well some of these weather changes will make those

birds get up off the water and kind of fly around a little bit and those are the days

that you're going to be out there and really capitalize on on your opportunity.

So definitely make sure that you're hunting those big push days or taking advantage of any kind of weather changes that you're seeing in your area.

The other thing that I'll point out is a lot of times in the late season a lot of the water is going to be

locked up so you might be forced to hunt a lot of the same areas or in close

proximity to the same areas day after day you know a lot of the birds that you're
