This week I want to talk not only about fourth quarter goals and planning but also our fourth annual Pink Friday!

Pink Friday is a day in November to celebrate small businesses — what it means to be a small business owner, shopping small first, and community over competition.

Since founding Pink Friday, we’ve seen small businesses around the world recognize this special day. Last year 38 boutiques in New Orleans alone teamed up to participate.

So, today I am sharing everything you need to know about Pink Friday, how to get involved and where to find more information. I want to encourage you to participate and share your story, as well as team up with other small business owners in your community and make the most of Pink Friday.

1:05.2	So you want to hear it? All right. We are gearing up for our fourth annual Pink Friday event. Now, what is Pink Friday?
1:14.4	It is the biggest day in the fourth quarter for boutiques to celebrate what it means to be a boutique.
1:20.4	So just like Black Friday, Pink Friday is a day for consumers to shop small first. Now, hear me out. I get it. Small Business Saturday is
1:29.7	awesome. We all participate, but here's my beef with Small Business Saturday is that I feel like it's
1:35.2	an afterthought. I feel like it comes after Black Friday. It's after everyone's already spent
1:40.3	their money at the big box store and whatever they have left over, maybe they're going to
1:44.3	nickel and dime at a local shop. And that's great. It turns out to be a big day for many of you,
1:49.0	but I really wanted to shift focus to create a worldwide annual event that you can count on
1:54.9	that is meant just for independent retailers and local shops that might be in your community
1:59.8	to team up and really tell
2:01.5	the story of what it means to be a small business owner and to invite your community to shop
2:05.8	with you first. So over the last several years since we launched Pink Friday, it's again,
2:11.5	a completely free event. You don't have to pay anything. It's simply up to you to participate.
