Chief Justice John Roberts has paused a court-imposed midnight deadline for the Trump administration

to release nearly $2 billion in frozen foreign aid.

The Trump administration raised to the Supreme Court just hours before the cutoff,

saying it'll take weeks to pay out the money owed to the impacted

contractors and organisations. Robert's order doesn't resolve the underlying questions raised

by the case. Instead, he imposed what's known as an administrative stay to give the court a few

days to review written arguments. In yesterday's court filings, the Trump administration said it's ending more than 90% of

foreign aid awards, amounting to about $57 billion.

It comes as Elon Musk admitted during yesterday's cabinet meeting that the Department

of Government Efficiency had accidentally cut funding for Ebola prevention.
