You guys remind us of birch show storylines that maybe we haven't closed up and Patricia

Greenberg here said, hey, last year around this time, a teacher reached out to you wanting

help to create a positive change with her school, which was lacking in cultural diversity.

I'm a teacher myself and I'm wondering, whatever happened, can you do a follow up Thursday

on that?

Story air July of last year, our listeners, a teacher at a Lutheran school that has

an older, less open-minded board.

She took pride in the diversity at the school, but there was a problem.

The board didn't have the same open mind and had strict rules on hair.

Students with braids had to hide them, especially if they had color in them.

She sought advice on how to address the problem with the board.

Mo and Katie both agreed that she needed to sit down with the board and explain the importance

of certain hairstyles within the black community.

Katie also mentioned teaching the students about cultural differences will help.
