Hello and welcome back to practicing human, the podcast where every day we're getting a little better at life.

I'm your host, Corey Miscara, and in today's episode, we are going to talk about following the energy

0:14.8

and how to use it as a sacred compass. More to come on that in a moment, but first, let's settle in together

0:24.2

with the sound of the bells.

0:58.9

So, So a big thing I have been tracking over the last five or so years and even more so in a refined way in the last couple of years is how to know where to put my attention, what things to focus on,

1:07.5

what to build within my business, and how to make decisions within relationship and in life.

1:14.0

As I'm sure you've experienced, there's a lot of different options in any given moment and a lot of internal noise, we could call it, giving us conflicting ideas about what to pursue

1:22.6

and what to do. And the not knowing what to pursue amidst that noise can sometimes create a

1:31.5

paralysis of sorts. We don't do anything. Or we override an inner knowing and do something

1:40.2

based on other people's ideas or what statistically seems like the right choice or what our

1:49.2

ego mind is convincing us to do because there's something seductive or compelling about it

1:56.3

even though it might not feel like the right path fully.

2:01.6

And if we're coming to this discernment from a place of, let's say, disembodiment,

2:09.6

which doesn't have to be pathologized, many of us are disembodied and we go through different stages of life

2:16.6

where we might be more or less disembodied and we go through different stages of life where we might be more or less

2:18.3

disembodied, which really just means an inability to stay at the pace of our body and listen

2:28.9

with attunement to the different signals and communication that it's giving us.

2:34.4

You can imagine how that could be difficult, right?

2:36.3

If there's a lot of pain in the body, if we've learned to mistrust the body,

2:41.4

if maybe we came from a family system or a culture that emphasized intellect and cognition

2:49.3

as the peak way to make decisions or even the only way to make decisions,

2:54.5

then we end up just living in our minds.
