I've got to say this shook me in a big way. I've seen firsthand the difference that investigative

journalism can make in these cases, especially in making sure that they're not forgotten.

Even though everyone in this country seems to be

obsessed with true crime and there's so much true crime journalism, most of the time, the vast

majority of the coverage just does not help advance the case. It does not move things forward.

And this seems to be especially true for local TV news coverage. So you have this strange situation

where there's this wall-to-wall saturation of coverage for a lot of these cases. You've got reporters

standing on lawns or trying to get sound bites from people. Yet there's no in-depth analysis.

By the way, I'm not throwing shade on the journalists here

because I've worked in a lot of newsrooms and I've been that person who's under pressure to get the

sound bites. Actually, that's one of the main reasons why I love doing podcasts. I love doing

this type of long form investigative journalism. Heidi Plank is one of those cases

where there are a lot of crazy rumors flying around and have been since she disappeared.

I'm going to talk about one of those rumors, even though it has not been substantiated. A lot of

people online on forums like WebSlos and Reddit or talking about it.

There was a headline in the Sun newspaper and that headline read,

Heidi Plank overdosed on fentanyl laced adderol at a party with strippers and crypto gambling.

So Revelers dumped body.

According to the Sun newspaper, a woman named Don, who has a YouTube channel, said she decided to go to the Hope and Flower building where Heidi's dog was found. She went there and talked to someone who said they were an insider and said they knew exactly what had happened to Heidi. Now, this person told Don that Heidi had been dating someone who lived in that building.

They said she had left her dog with a dog sitter in there on the 28th floor, which was where her dog seven was later found.

This source claimed that Heidi went to this party on the 40th floor.
