Chapter three. Don't let old friends die.

Ever heard of the five regrets of the dying?

Made popular by palliative care practitioner,

Bronny Wears, online article, Regrets of the Dying.

And then later transformed into a book called Top Five Regrets of the Dying,

a life transformed by the dearly departing.

These five regrets most often uttered by those on their deathbed or as follows.

I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself,

not the life others expected of me. I wish I hadn't worked so hard.

I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.

I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends,

and I wish that I had let myself be happier.

While each of these regrets could be addressed in great detail,

I'd like to especially think today about that fourth regret.

I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

Bronny says often they would not truly realize the full benefit of old friends

until they're dying weeks, and it was not always possible to track them down.
