And our theme today is finding God in the midst of massive transitions.

Now, I'm doing this podcast as we are in the midst of COVID-19, our own massive

transition of our generation, and really an event that's so disrupted things that it'll go down

in history is, you know, one of the great events of the 21st century. They'll be talking about

this for decades, an equivalent of a World War I or a World War II.

And so again, from the economy to work, the workplace, to church, to schools, the list

goes on in terms of the transition, so many transitions happening at the same time.

And yet biblically, transitions and the letting go in transitions are critical

leadership tasks and critical discipleship tasks that were to master if we're going to actually do

God's work, God's way, and of course in God's timing. So the problem is most of us don't do

transitions well, and I'm one of them. You know, we don't

really have a good theology of endings and new beginnings. I mean, I think of my own grandmother

who, after her husband died, wore black her whole life. I mean, many of us come from family

histories and sometimes cultures where something dies or ends, and it's kind of like we freeze and get rigid at that point and don't let change come in.

And again, we go kicking and screaming.

Deep fear takes over.

We wonder if it's going to all turn out okay.

And so for some of us, we just keep
