Very good morning and welcome back to the Independent Republic of Mike Graeme.

It feels like we've been away for an age, doesn't it?

And it is, of course, a brand new year.

So here's to a very happy 2022.

May it bring you all the joy that you deserve,

and may it be a damn sight better than the one we left behind.

It's only been just over a week since I was last here and it's time to take a look around at where we are.

Now, I obviously want to hear from all of you today because this is a very, very big day.

It's a bank holiday.

It doesn't seem to be many people about, so you're all at home.

Good chance to listen for three hours to the most sensible man in the entire universe. And that would, of course, be me.
