aren't in an office today, and a million Britons are stuck in self-isolation, leaving bins

uncollected, hospitals short of staff, trains without drivers, schools without teachers, and

restaurants without chefs. Do you remember when Britain used to be called the

sick man of Europe? Well I think we are back in that place. 1970s chic, for heaven's sake. As

usual it's COVID it's getting to blame, but honestly, can you really be sure that a million

people are staying at home because they've genuinely tested positive or are they simply swinging

the lead? I'm not saying they all are, but I reckon at least half of them are.
