Hello and welcome to the sleepy book shelf where we put down our worries from the day and pick up a good book.

In our last episode we read the final pages of The Secret Garden.

A few of you have written to tell me how special this story was to you as a child, and it was truly so wonderful to read it to you.

I was captivated on every page and felt so inspired at the end of it.

So thank you all for your suggestions for this one.

Archibald Craven had been traveling all over Europe, trying to find some joy and to escape his sadness at home.

He had been to the most beautiful locations, but his spirit couldn't be lifted.

While hiking through an Austrian forest, he stopped on a mossy bed by a stream, and fell into

an almost meditative state, he found himself noticing the tiny forget-me-nots growing by the water.

And for the first time in a decade, he felt happy.

He couldn't have known, but it had been in this moment that Colin had walked into the garden for the first time and

declared he would live forever.

It didn't take long for the sadness to take over again,

but more and more, there were moments in Mr Craven's days

where light would enter and he felt his soul getting stronger.

One night as he slipped into the most peaceful sleep he could remember, he had the most vivid dream where he heard his wife calling to him.

When he asked her where she was, she replied,

in the garden,

and these words stayed with him.
