Summary

Our topic this week is conflict in marriage. How can we handle the inevitable disagreements that come in our married relationships with maturity and grace? I share some ideas for what I consider “fighting fair” but I want to hear yours too! I answer listener Bridget’s recent question on this topic with the following ideas: 1) No name calling 2) Check in with them about what they are saying 3) No using the “D” word (divorce) 4) No threats, physical or otherwise 5) Stick to the topic at hand 6) Don’t use absolutes or accusatory language 7) Take a break when you need to I also share about Ascension’s newest podcast, The Tightrope Finally, we share some feedback from our recent episode about female friendships. I love to connect with you every week in this way through the podcast. So thanks for being here. This is my first time recording in a little bit because I recorded the last few
0:54.9	episodes ahead of time because Dan and I went on a little trip. We went away. We went to Las Vegas,
1:00.1	which kind of sounded like a crazy idea when Dan proposed it at kind of the last minute.
1:06.8	And I've never been to Las Vegas. Neither of us has been. And he just wanted us to go and explore a new place and do some things, go to some shows. And we did that. And wow, that place, crazy. And, you know, part of me thought leaving that maybe there were going to be some some yucky things we were going to see in Las Vegas,
1:29.5	even just some advertisements for places or things going on that I don't want to see or know about.
1:36.0	But do you know, that did not happen. Truly, I mean, I know there's seedy stuff in Las Vegas.
1:41.7	I mean, there's seedy stuff in every city, but I thought especially Las Vegas. And I didn't see anything like that. I mean, I saw a lot of over-the-top
1:50.5	glitz and glamour and crazy, you know, just get attention type stuff. But it wasn't gross in any way,
1:59.4	shape, or form. I really enjoyed the trip. It was a lot of fun. Dan
2:02.3	loved it more than I did. And he was like, oh, we totally have to come back here. And I was
2:06.1	kind of like, yeah, I've seen the city. I'm all set. Even though it was a totally fun trip. I
2:11.4	enjoyed it. And here's something funny. We didn't gamble, not even one dollar, because neither of us finds that enjoyable. So why would
2:19.5	we do that? We for sure walked through casinos and all the different places, all the different
2:24.0	hotels. We walked down the strip. There was one night that we just walked down the strip.
2:30.2	And by the end, I checked my phone. We had walked seven miles and we weren't drinking or anything.
