So the title of today's study affects of a low-fat, high-carbohydrate

diet on plasma sex hormones and pre-menopausal women. So this study is so interesting for a number of

reasons, which we'll get into. But I think what you should know about this study is that they were not

trying to improve menstrual cycle health. They were not trying to show the importance of fat for

hormone production. This study was actually designed to try to figure out if putting women on a low-fat diet

might reduce their risk of cancer because of the hypothesis that estrogen causes cancer to grow.
