Summary

Here's some twinkly goodness in the shape of my Top 10 Feel Good Habits interviews. First up, Caroline Hirons.

This episode was originally published in March 2021.

Caroline is a best-selling author, skincare expert, businesswoman and consultant who admits that while she doesn’t struggle with feeling down, she does have a series of habits that set her up for a great day.

During our conversation @carolinehirons reveals:

•How and why she developed a ‘let’s just get on with it, shall we?’ attitude.

•Why she has surrounded herself with ‘no’ instead of ‘yes’ people.

•The power of a good playlist for helping her sail through her to-do list or get a task done.

•How her family ground and centre her.

•Why the day doesn’t begin until her bed is made.

•Her ‘wallpaper’ of SVU, Oprah and anything familiar.

•Why she’s so good at multi-tasking.

•Why you NEVER come for @oprah, and much more…

But let's talk about your

0:21.1

feel-good habits. And you've already said that you, you're not somebody who's ever been

0:27.2

depressed and you're not somebody who necessarily falls into those black holes of feeling

0:31.2

glum. But do you have things that you do just to keep yourself perky and pepped up and

0:36.5

motivated? Because you are one of the

0:39.1

most motivated and diligent people I know. If you've got something that has to be done, not only will

0:49.3

you do it, but you do it to the best that it can possibly be done. Yeah, but more because what I've realized is I tried

1:00.0

to do the five feel good habits and I was like, okay, I don't have any, but actually,

1:04.1

the habits that I do every day is my routine. And if I don't do that, then I don't feel good. So I thought, well, that must, that must be it. Because that's where my routine. And if I don't do that, then I don't feel good.

1:12.3

So I thought, well, that must be it. Because that's where my, like I said, the history of OCD comes into it because I have a very, like, you know, gym's always like, okay, it has to be your way. I'm like, I don't know why you're still arguing. We've been together a long time.

1:34.0

But, so yeah, all I kind of got is like my daily routine, you know, and I didn't want to be sort of cheesy and be like, oh, I just need to be in my family and friends.

1:39.3

Because sometimes they irritate a shit out with me and they're the reason I don't feel good.

1:45.0

And people who say that, I think,

1:46.3

have beautiful young children or no children.

1:49.1

That's what I think.

1:50.1

They don't have older children with real,

1:53.7

like grown-up problems and issues

1:55.5

that they still want you to solve,

1:57.3

or teenagers,
