How is your peace retreat coming along? This has been your challenge all week long to give yourself a minute

each day to visualize a place where you feel safe. This becomes your personal retreat.

And when you're experiencing a crisis, the fear and the uncertainty can leave you

feeling ungrounded. And so your peace retreat can become your anchor. I remember a few

years ago I was in a car accident and I had some injuries.

There was a lot going on around me.

I hope you haven't been in a car accident before, but if you have, you may recall and

maybe never forget how loud they are. And so with this jarring sound of the

car accident and all the commotion taking place afterwards, I transported myself to my peace retreat which is in the Cyprus Grove in my backyard. I live in Florida and

the Cyprus trees there are native plants. I love nature. So for myself,

a peace retreat included me being in the midst of these cypress trees in the forest behind my home.

And I didn't create that peace retreat at that moment when I was experiencing a lot of pain and commotion from a car accident, I don't know that I would have been able to create

a peace retreat right on the spot like that in the midst of chaos.

I created that peace retreat and spent a lot of time there as I meditated over many months and over the years.

So during my time of greatest need, I was able to instantly transport myself to this peace retreat.
