Summary

Be guided in a breathing technique to start your day with focus and clarity.

This week's series of meditations are based on the classic book, "Meditations of Marcus Aurelius," who was a Roman emperor who ruled from 161-180 A.D. You'll be guided in meditations from his book. His reflections are based on Stoic philosophy which emphasizes living a peaceful life by practicing self-control to attain inner peace by overcoming adversity, and honoring your true nature -- not forcing yourself to be a particular way. This is so aligned with how I share meditation so I'm excited about this week's series.

This is part 4 of a 7-Part Meditations of Marcus Aurelius, Episodes 604-610.

You are guided with a different meditation technique every day that is customized for the week's theme. Weave the techniques into the most stressful times of your day to manage difficult emotions. The meditation techniques help to calm the "monkey mind," when your thoughts continuously interrupt your meditation.

this podcast and every technique is customized around a weekly theme. Well our

0:17.6

theme this week in today's episode 607 is all about meditations by Marcus

0:26.4

Aurelius. Now if you've been following me this week you know that I'm

0:31.2

customizing meditations around one of the reflections and Marcus Aurelius's

0:38.0

meditations. It's a book not really a book it is a book but he didn't intend it to

0:45.5

be a written book that would be dispersed to people. These were simply his daily

0:51.5

reflections as a man as a human observing the world around him. Now he was

0:58.0

Emperor of Rome and that was way back in AD 120 through 180 but what I want

1:09.8

you to take away is he followed a belief that was very popular during his time

1:16.8

and is I think enjoying a revival these days and that is stoicism and that's

1:24.3

the philosophy where you try to be the best you can be and live morally not to

1:33.5

take things so personally and this will give you inner peace. So basically it's

1:40.2

about releasing the drama in your life and just doing the right thing whether

1:45.3

or not it's going to have an outcome that personally suits you and he talks a

1:53.4

lot about accepting what's happening in your life because things happen things

1:58.7

are gonna happen to all of us and the first meditation I released which you can

2:04.2

go back and listen to that one was this past Sunday these are all over at my
