This is Episode 1,612. Welcome to the Daily Meditation Podcast. I'm Mary Mechley and I honor

0:11.4

you for giving yourself permission to slow down in today's episode. We continue with our

0:23.0

self-care journey showing gratitude and appreciation to yourself for all you are and you will discover

0:36.3

an affirmation you can repeat as you meditate and I encourage you to repeat the affirmation when

0:46.3

you wake up in the morning before you start your day and as you go to bed as you end your day,

0:56.1

anytime you repeat an affirmation is the right time but morning and evening are the best times to

1:09.4

really focus on the intention of the affirmation. So in the morning when you wake up your mind is not

1:22.1

usually cluttered with the different cares of the day and in the evening your mind is calming down as

1:35.9

you get ready to ease yourself into sleep. So these are great times to repeat an affirmation. An

1:46.1

affirmation is best when it is short and concise and that is what this week's affirmation is all

1:58.1

about. It's simple you can remember it easily and it empowers you. So the affirmation for this

2:11.1

week's series on self-care is I am enough. I am enough and when you think about the many ways

2:27.7

you are enough, think about qualities about yourself that you feel grateful for. So there's a

2:42.4

difference between feeling confident or proud and feeling grateful or appreciative. For example,

2:56.5

when you're feeling proud or confident, you are likely sizing yourself up, comparing yourself to

3:09.4

some standard. You might think I am so good at completing projects on time. I rarely procrastinate or

3:24.3

I'm a great cook or I'm a great friend or parent. But when you feel gratitude, you're simply

3:34.9

appreciating a particular quality. So you might think I am so grateful that I have a project to work on

3:45.6

and that I'm able to focus or I am so appreciative of my family and loved ones in my life.

3:59.6

So as you repeat the affirmation today and as you go into your meditation, focus on

4:09.8

the ways that you feel as though you are enough exactly as you are. You can find the full guided

4:25.5

meditations on our SIP and OM meditation app. You can try it for two weeks, absolutely free,
