In California, first responders are called to a reported assault with a deadly weapon

and find a beloved fire captain dead. In Texas, police responded to the scene of what appeared to be a tragic car

accident. However, during the investigation, it was discovered that someone had intentionally caused

the fatal wreck. In Louisiana, a woman called 911 and reported that she had shot her boyfriend

after an argument over food.

And in Maine, a man was arrested in connection to the alleged assault of his mother and murder of his wife this week.

On Monday, February 17th at around 9 p.m.

First responders in Ramona, California, were dispatched to a home on Rancho Villa Road for a reported assault with a deadly weapon.

Deputies with the San Diego County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene, followed by paramedics

with the Temecula Fire Department. Deputies entered the home and found a woman suffering from

extensive sharp force injuries and tried to perform life-saving measures until paramedics were able to

take over. Tragically, the woman died at the scene. She was later identified as 49-year-old Rebecca Marody, who also went by Becky.

For some of the first responders who arrived on the scene and were trying to save Becky's life,

the incident left them heartbroken and wrought with grief.
