Summary
This episode is about fasting and muscle loss and a study showing how fat is mobilized during short and long term fasting through the main substrate for gluconeogenesis which is glycerol coming from stored fatty acids rather than muscle. I also discuss another study showing how many calories are burned during PMS or the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle and why it is good to eat more during that time, as fat gain will not occur and we will support the body's hormones.
