Hey everybody. It's James Lindsay and you are listening to New Discourse's Bullets, where I give a single bullet point-like summary of a topic from Woke that we need to understand so that we can defeat it. I'm doing a little

bit of a series on fascism and related topics. In fact, I think of fascism and national socialism

as very close cousins. Literally, I think they're more like brothers within the same kind of

ideological framework. And that framework should be called in general woke nationalism. So

the wokeness applies to an ideal collective called a nation. So there's an ideal vision of a

nation out there. That's the woke part. And it works as a collective. So you have a collectivist

politics and all the rest of the woke stuff we're used to

follow. So it's not a communist model that operates according to classes, but rather it is a

different model that operates according to the concept of an extended family called a nation

to which people have duty. And a lot of people, this is an interesting podcast because I'm going to talk about something

that's more relevant to national socialism.

Like I said, fascism and national socialism are kind of brothers ideologically.

But it doesn't apply as specifically to kind of the very kind of straight fascism of Benito Mussolini and Giovanni Gentile, although it's there.

But this is a very national socialist thing, which is I think the result of Nazism not actually being kind of predicated on a really Christian structure.

Mussolini had a Catholicism. It wasn't, I mean, the point was a fascist state. He's very clear

about that, but there was like a Catholicism that put sort of a limit on this sort of evolutionary eugenics thinking that the Nazis did not

have as a limiting factor. They were all in on eugenics. They were going to breed the perfect Germans

and they were going to use the perfect bred Germans to outcompete the whole world. And this is the

topic that I want to talk about is underneath

fascism, and in particular underneath national socialism, and in particular, when there's

less Christian belief involved, what you have is a, how do I put this? It's an evolutionary model, it is, but it's not. It's wrong on the

evolution. But there's a naturalistic fallacy to this. There's this, if it is natural, then it is
