Summary

New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 154 Father of Italian Fascism, Benito Mussolini, is famous for having remarked that Fascism can be summarized simply enough as "corporatism." When we hear this, many of us assume it refers to an ideology of the state being fused with its corporations. That's part of the economic program of Fascism, no doubt, but that's not actually what it means. What it means is much more concerning and creepy. The word "corporate" and thus "corporatism" come from the Latin root corpus, which means "body." Fascism as corporatism actually means that the whole of society operates as a single body or single organism! The individuals are its cells, the institutions (including corporations) are its organs, and the Fascist State is its Central Nervous System and seat of its entire soul. Hey everybody. This is James Lindsay, and you are listening to New Discourse's Bullets, where I give a short bullet point-like summary of a single topic relevant to woke that we all need to understand so we can stop it.

0:21.3

I'm going to do a few episodes here for a little while about fascism, and certainly this is one of

0:26.3

those. This episode, rather than kind of starting at the beginning, is going to kind of jump in

0:30.9

in the middle. You've probably heard the famous expression from Benito Mussolini, the father of

0:36.8

Italian fascism, at least politically speaking.

0:40.3

Giovanni Gentile probably actually was the intellectual behind the project, but

0:44.8

Mussolini was the power in the face. And he has this famous expression. Mussolini does,

0:50.3

is that fascism can be summarized as corporatism.

0:55.0

And we all hear this, and we've talked about this, I've talked about this a lot, and I think somewhat incorrectly.

1:00.0

We've talked about this in the sense that this public-private partnership model that we see from, say, the World Economic Forum,

1:08.0

the United Nations, and all of these corrupt leftist institutions

1:11.2

on the global scale, all of this kind of model is textbook fascism. It is a fusion of the state

1:18.1

and the corporation, and that is an element within fascism, that in a sense all the corporations

1:25.2

become subservient to the state. We see that in the 19, what is it, 37 shareholder act for the Nazis, the Nazi shareholder

1:33.5

act, which made the corporations subservient to the Nazi state.

1:36.8

In effect, the fascist government or the national socialist government in that case becomes

1:42.8

the largest shareholder in principle,

1:47.3

the largest stakeholder actually of the corporation. The model that they express is that the

1:52.6

folk or the people are in fact the largest stakeholder of the company. So the company has to

1:57.4

serve the people. But the government is established as a fascist state in order

2:02.6

to organize the society to serve the people. So therefore, the government will serve as the

2:07.7

stakeholder representatives of the folk or of the people. So in effect, the government,
