Summary

The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 201 As we have been exploring, the Nazis had a worldview, and that worldview formed the core of their European experiment in the 1930s and 1940s. Underneath that worldview was a myth: the Myth of the Blood. This myth was concocted by the Nazi's chief ideologist, Alfred Rosenberg, and formalized the race-based thinking of the Third Reich. And myth it is. Rosenberg records these ideas in his book The Myth of the Twentieth Century, which begins with a chapter titled "Race and Race-Soul," and it opens with a declared intention to rewrite history. In this episode of the Nazi Experiment series on the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay takes you through several sections of Rosenberg's Myth, showing just how deep the racial rabbit hole goes with the Nazis (to the foundations of humanity, to be exact). Join him for yet another harrowing look inside the Nazi ideology. Latest from New Discourses Press! Hey everybody, it's James Lindsay, and you are listening to the New Discourses podcast,

0:24.1

and we are doing another exciting episode of the Nazi experiment series.

0:30.6

In fact, this should be the 13th volume of that series.

0:35.1

If we stick to the formally numbered ones, there are a couple others floating

0:39.9

around beyond those. And we explored in the last episode this idea of the fake Christian

0:47.4

religion that was offered to Germans as a bridge faith, as I called it, a way to get off of their

0:57.0

Christian beliefs and onto Nazi beliefs. Think of it like a ferry boat. And this movement was

1:02.9

called the Positive Christianity Movement. And I read to you from a book called Positive Christianity

1:10.0

in the Third Reich that is by, I'm assuming it's pronounced

1:13.7

Caius, it's C-A-J-U-S, Caius Fabricius. I said that's probably a pseudonym and went on and on

1:19.9

about that and that I didn't, I wasn't sure if he was real. Turns out he is real. I looked into that.

1:24.8

He's actually, that is him. I don't know for sure if that's his real name, but that's the name.

1:29.8

And anyway, I digress.

1:31.5

We talked about the positive Christianity movement,

1:33.1

and I explained in that episode that Alfred Rosenberg is Hitler's chief ideologist.

1:41.8

That was literally his job, chief ideologist of the Reich.

1:45.5

So it was Alfred Rosenberg's job, his duty, to tell the story of the Nazi people, to write the

1:54.1

myth that they would sign up to. The pseudo-tradition that these pseudo-traditionalist fascists would adopt and believe as the true

2:04.7

tradition of their people. And there's an important point there. The radical right, the

2:13.1

fascist right, or the woke right, really, what makes them woke is partly this. The woke right

2:18.7

subscribes to not traditionalism like conservatives do, but to pseudo-traditionalism, which means

2:26.4

false traditionalism. And the distinction is this, that the real traditionalism of real
