Welcome to the Art of Charm. I'm your host Jordan Harbinger. I'm here with producer Jason

0:12.8

de Filipo. Today's fan mail Friday. You know what that means unless you're new to the

0:16.7

show. Essentially what that means is we're taking your questions, advice, complaints,

0:21.5

feedback, but mostly just advice. Good or bad. Hopefully good. Hopefully good. Although

0:26.2

we've had some stinkers. Haven't we Jason? Yeah it happens. It happens. It's rare. I'd

0:30.0

like to think it's rare, but anyway let's cut right to it. Hello AOC. I'm a 21-year-old

0:34.1

triplet with two brothers and an older sister who's 25. Well one of my brothers and I are

0:38.5

very outgoing, athletic, and are headed on a clear career path. My sister is stuck in

0:56.6

his associates degree at Community College and the time is coming for him to pick a major

1:00.7

at a four year school. I hate seeing them so sad all the time, but everything I've tried

1:05.4

doesn't motivate them to apply for jobs, focus on their hobbies, or try and make friends.

1:10.6

Nothing I say works. Am I just being an overprotective sister? I want to see them do

1:14.6

well, but I can't find the right words. Thanks for the advice and overly loving sister.

1:19.7

So to me, Jason, I don't know what you think here. This just sounds like depression straight

1:24.0

up. And a lot of people don't get this one right away because they imagine depression

1:28.7

to look differently than it does or they think depressed people have always been that way

1:33.8

when that's not the case. And it often sneaks up over time. And of course, since she's

1:38.0

the sister, she's like, well, he wasn't like this one. We were kids. So if he was depressed,

1:41.8

I would have noticed it when he was younger and you know, there's all kinds of sort of
