This month, The Awesome Marriage, we're talking about family issues when it comes to marriage. A lot of marital issues stem from family conflict.

And we get a lot of requests daily about advice on how to handle narrative conflicts that

involve family members. So we really wanted to just take the month to address this big issue and kind of

dive into it in more detail. So today we're going to be talking specifically about family, extended

family, invading your personal life. So just expecting too much of your time or having unrealistic

expectations. So Dr. Kim, do you see this as a common issue in the counseling room?

You know, I don't know that it's a common issue, but when it's an issue, it's really an issue.

And it really affects a marriage and family.

You know, maybe, I don't know, a percentage of it.

It's not everybody at all.

But boy, when it is, it's in a, sometimes it will be the presenting problem.

And a lot of times a couple will come in for other things as we get into it will be,

oh, okay, this is, this could be causing a lot of things that are going on.

Yeah.

So when it is a problem, it can really be an issue that really affects a marriage and limits of marriage and causes a lot of conflict and a lot of strife between the husband and wife.

Yeah, certainly. I see it, I see it being a big issue with a lot of friends and just people I know.

And I think part of it is that we live in this kind of oversharing kind of culture. And so,
