This month of Awesome Marriage, we've been talking all about family issues when it comes to marriage. And today we're going to be talking about

a specific topic that's kind of more of a somber topic and a hard topic. We're going to be talking

about family abuse. And so just to throw it out there at the very being in this podcast, we do

want to say, if you are being physically abused by anyone in your family member, we really do want you to get help right

away. We want you to go see a counselor. We want you to get safe. So we're just going to start it out

just by saying that. And now we're going to dive into the topic. So Dr. Kim, what are the different

types of abuse that you see going on in different families. Yeah, and I think most of us we think of physical abuse.

That's the one that seems to be more visible.

That's when we see in the news more, that we see, you know, we've had athletes that have abused.

We've seen a lot of things like that.

So the physical part of it, we see a lot.

The sexual abuse we hear about, and certainly that

happens in families, verbal abuse. I think we see that happen. We're just verbally abusive,

saying horrible things to each other, screaming at someone, yelling at someone. The ones that are

a little harder to do is when someone's emotionally abusive because it may be subtle.

It may not be as overt.

It may not be as visible.
