Let's open the Word of God together one more time to Matthew Chapter 9, which you find the gospel according to Matthew chapter 9 in your Bible, or get next to somebody that has a copy of the scripture so you can follow along.

We've been studying this amazing chapter today in the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus.

In fact, it is set in his own city, verse one tells us.

Aren't you glad that Jesus works in every city and Jesus will work in your city?

And wherever the Lord is invited, wherever Christ is made welcome, that's his

hometown, because the Lord just moves in. When he moves in, he brings all of the divine furnishings

with him. And you see Christ at work in Matthew chapter 9. There's a little theme that I think is the

thread that is woven through this chapter. If you haven't marked it

already in your Bible, in verse number six, it is that the son of man has power on earth to forgive

sins. And then he repeats it in verse number eight, such power, such power. There is no power like the

power of Christ. There is no power like the power of christ there is no power like the power

of heaven at work on earth and god moving among men and in the bible study hour we learned

something about the power of compassion the power of the love of god to change hearts and

melt calloused souls and then in the morning meeting we talked about the power of God to change hearts and melt calloused souls. And then in the morning meeting,

we talked about the power of the gospel, what it means to have faith in God and forgiveness of

sins and a future. I bring you now to the closing verses of Matthew chapter 9, and I want to talk

to you this evening about a third type of Christ's power at work in us,

and it is the power of prayer.

But when Jesus saw the multitudes, he was moved.
