Matthew chapter 17, verses 19 and 20.

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said,

Why could we not cast it out?

He said to them, because of your little faith.

For truly I say to you, if you have faith like a grain

of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move,

and nothing will be impossible for you. What a powerful picture of Jesus confronting his disciples for their lack of faith.

And the whole lead up to this is really moving.

There's a man who comes up to Jesus crying out for mercy on his son, who has seizures and

his suffering and throws himself into a fire oftentimes.

And this man had brought his son, the disciples, and they couldn't heal him.

And Jesus starts talking about how they were faithless. And then Jesus rebukes this demon. It comes

out of the son. The boys healed instantly. And the disciples are like, why can we do that? And Jesus says,

because of your little faith. And when I read this, I just immediately pray for more faith, realizing that it's just a little bit of faith.

So what's amazing about what Jesus says here is he doesn't say, if you have faith like a mountain,

then you can move mountains. He says, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, like the

tiniest little bit of faith, then you can see mountains moved.

So, oh, I just want to leave us to pray. God, we pray for faith in our lives, for trust in our lives,

and that you have power to do the impossible. God, we pray that we would trust in you and your power

as we ask for all kinds of things in our lives,

in others' lives, who we love, we just think about this dad, crying out for mercy on his son.
