devotional. Well, good morning, everybody, or good afternoon or good evening, whenever and wherever

you're listening from, thanks for making this part of your day. My name is Bro, and we are currently diving into the book of James, and you can find it in the

back of the Bible right after the book of Hebrews.

It's a letter just full of encouragement and wisdom and straightforward talk about you

and me living an authentic faith.

James says faith is so much more than just having an intellectual

belief in God. He even later on says, even the demons have that. He says, instead your faith

must be real and alive and active and vibrant, demonstrating that there's an ongoing inside-out

kind of life change happening in you. And as you execute that kind of faith,

it will throw a floodlight on the goodness of God. Because mere intellectual faith is pretty

useless. Look what he says. Verse 14, what good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you

have faith, but you don't show it by your actions, can that kind of faith save anyone?

Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing and you say,

Goodbye, have a good day, stay warm and eat well, but then you don't give that person any food or clothing.

What good does that do?

You see, faith by itself isn't enough unless it produces good deeds.

It is dead and useless.
