devotional. Hey, thanks for tuning in or logging on or whatever you just did with technology to join us

on the Daily Drive podcast. I'm Mike Bro, and we're going through

the book of James together for a few minutes every weekday, and we are wrapping up chapter two

today where he tells us that our faith and the way we live needs to match up. We left off

yesterday at verse number 18, so let's pick up right there. He writes, now someone may argue. Some people have faith. Well, other people

have good deeds. But I say, how can you show me your faith if you don't have good deeds?

I will show you my faith by my good deeds. I remember a friend asking this guy who was very

stoic and expressionless. Dude, why are you so unhappy? And the guy shot back. I'm very

happy. He said, well, you need to tell your face. How it's not exactly the same. But James is saying,

how can we tell you have faith? Faith is not just a private internal thing. It overflows in action.

As Jesus said, those who have been forgiven much,

well, they love much. And as we talked about yesterday, James is not saying that it's the good things

we do that saves us. It's Jesus what he has done for us on a bloodstained cross that saves us,

but now there ought to be a tangible outward expression of a grateful and changed life.

Verse 19. You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you. Even the

demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. Just a mere intellectual faith he's saying,

you know, the dark side has that. They believe, they know
