Welcome to Through the Bible, I'm Steve Sweats, your host on this five-year journey through the entire word of God. In this study today, we're right in the

middle of the book of Ezekiel, and I'm not going to lie, it's a difficult place to be.

You know, but even in this curious, hardly traveled stretch of road here in Ezekiel, we hear a message as current

as what we might write in our own journals today.

Maybe you've asked these questions recently, why do I feel far from God? How do I get back? How do I change these things that are keeping me from God?

I've heard Dr. McGee say that God would rather see you in a storm fighting for your life than living in disobedience. He'd rather see you in a storm fighting for your life than living in disobedience.

He'd rather see you in a hospital bed or in bankruptcy court than living in disobedience.

He'd rather you experience depression and penetrating loneliness if that's the only place that you'll hear

his message, come back to me.

Well, that's the message of forgiveness and grace that I hope that you hear in today's study. Our teacher is Dr. J.

Verna Mckee, so let's join him now in Ezekiel 14, but first let's pray.

Heavenly Father, we are all so prone to wander from you. We're prone to leave the God we love and we pray for those

who are ready to turn around and run back to you. Help them, Lord, help them find their way

back. Thank you for your kindness that leads us to repentance in Jesus

name we pray. Amen.

Here's Dr. J. Vernon McGee with our study of Ezekiel 14 on through the

Bible. Now in this particular section, as we've indicated before,

this man, Ezekiel, has been very careful to give the word of the Lord and the false prophets have given a background of a false hope to the people and this man, Ezekiel, is to counteract that. Now the Lord is just outlining here and

making a case of why he judge that city as he did.
