In terms of Matt's situation, I mean, what impresses me about, I mean, obviously I know Matt personally from his background.

I mean, I've known him a long time and he used to work on the PR side.

So, I mean, even before he got into the executive chip ranks, I've known Matt on a personal level for a long time.

I think the thing that impresses me about Matt beyond his cover, the wide-ranging relationships

he has throughout the league. It's just the different

experiences he's gained for working for different

franchises.

That's Casey Johnson, talk about Matt Lloyd.

Matt Lloyd was a native of Bensonville, Illinois, went to Fenton High School, was a media relations assistant in 99, and was part of media relations for four years when he dealt with the likes of Casey Johnson and others.

And then he moved into the scouting department when John Paxson took over from Jerry Kraus in 2003.

So Paxson must have been like, this kid talks my ear off, and he loves ball, and he's actually good and fun to work with.

So we might as well have him as part of the thing, you know?

And here's what we came to learn at the time, and I remember learning this as it was happening,

is that there was a while in there when the Bulls' front office was still one of the smallest front offices in the NBA,

and we would talk about how far behind they were with analytics and with things like that, right?

And that essentially, I remember being told at the time, you know, other teams have like 15, 16 guys and a whole like department of doing this.

And the Bulls have three guys.

It's three guys.

And the three guys were
