Hello, hello, and welcome to the Evolve of Emily Show.

0:13.1

I'm your host, Emily Hayden.

0:14.8

And today's guest is IFBBPB Pro, two-time Olympian, founder of FitBody Fusion,

0:38.8

transformation and lifestyle coach, also known as Mama Bear, my competition coach, Jamie D. Bernard. Welcome to the show. Thank you. I'm so happy to be here. Of course. I'm so happy we got to make this happen. For everyone that doesn't know, I was looking at my month ahead and I'm moving to Texas soon. So I won't have this studio much longer. And I was just sitting there. I was like, man, I wish I could get my

0:42.4

coach Jamie on the show. But she lives in Arizona. There's probably no way it'll happen. And so I

0:47.2

just sent a text. I almost felt dumb for sending it. But I was like, hey, there's no way you'll be near L.A. in the next two weeks, will you? And she's like, actually, I'm going to be

0:54.6

driving pretty close to there next week. So we were able to schedule it. So my life lesson learned

0:59.8

from that. And something I try to live my life by is if you don't ask, the answer is always no.

1:04.8

So that's been coming up a lot lately for me. It's really, it's so interesting with several people that I've told exactly that too that we're asking

1:12.8

asking actually me things. And it's kind of interesting how, you know, manifesting and putting that

1:17.9

energy out there and then being willing to actually ask for it. So my daughter had that situation

1:22.5

come up too and she's like, oh, you're right. Yeah, it's so true. Sometimes it's so hard to ask,

1:26.7

especially when you feel like, oh, there's no way it'll happen or that's not realistic. And then, look, now we're sitting here in the studio, getting this podcast out. It's perfect. Yeah. So I let everyone know that we would be here filming, recording. They were super excited to ask you all the questions. But before we dive into a bunch of those, I want to know,

1:44.4

and the audience wants to know a little bit more about your story and what led you to being a

1:49.2

competition coach. So like I mentioned, you're an IFPB Pro, two-time Olympian. Can you tell me a little bit

1:54.1

about getting into competing for yourself and what sparked that love and that passion for you?

1:58.0

So for me, it happened a very long time ago. I fell in love

2:02.7

with bodybuilding when women's bodybuilding first started in the 80s. And I saw Rachel McLeish and I just said,

2:08.8

oh, I want to look like that. I actually had a gentleman asked me if I wanted to be on a powerlifting

2:13.7

team when I was in high school. And so I did that for a while. And then I started

2:18.3

to pursue bodybuilding, which at the time, it was only women's bodybuilding. We didn't have all these

2:21.9

amazing divisions and opportunities for women that we have today. And my life ended up taking me
