election. And by we, I also mean me, so I'm expecting to have my Belgian

passport by the time the election rolls around in early June. So where do you

According to the latest Politico poll of polls, this election could see a pretty big shift to the political right in many European

countries and ultimately in the European Parliament. So what happens between now and then?

Well, for starters, the political parties on the European level have been holding conferences,

selecting their top candidates who will represent them in this campaign. Just last weekend, the European left party met in Lubiana, where they chose the Austrian

Volter Bayer to be their lead candidate.

And this weekend, the European socialists are off to Rome to noit their spits in Canada,

Nikola Schmidt.

So he's the EU's current commissioner for jobs and social rights.
