Let's turn over to Romans chapter one.

This is where I started last night.

Did you know, pastor, Bob, we don't ever compare notes or, you know, tell each other what we're

going to minister, but we just trust that the Holy Spirit makes things work together, and really

this fits together perfectly. I'm not sure that you all connect the dots.

Hopefully you do, but in case you didn't connect these dots,

when he's talking about burnout is when you get your eyes on yourself and stuff. That's what the opposite of the

gospel is. The gospel is all about what Jesus has done and talking about Jesus.

The burnout is when you get your eyes on yourself and it's

all about your performance and you've got to do this. I'm not sure that I can explain that

in a way that connects with every person, but that is a perfect way of explaining the gospel.

The gospel is when you're all looking at Jesus.

It's all about how good Jesus is and how wonderful he is and you're telling everybody

about what Jesus has done.

When you are in religion and in performance, it's all about what you must do and you do this

and you do this and you do this.

And really that's a very simple way of expressing this.

And the sad thing is so many ministers get caught up
