For today's episode the joke is a real letter published in the Portsmouth New Hampshire summer

guide.

That's because the guest is Eugene Merman, a comedian always looking for new ways to present

his comedy and incorporate his real life into it.

And to be fair, the letter was written with the attention of being right out loud in front of people.

Eugene explains everything in the joke, so it all makes sense soon enough. One thing to note, there is a second clip later in the episode that's partly visual,

so just so you know the paintings look really silly.

The interview was recorded live from the Montreal Just for Last Festival if you're wondering why the audience was laughing in French.

Now, I will let Eugene explain why he was so angry at the city of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. So last summer, I went to Portsmouth, New Hampshire with my girlfriend.

We went to, it's a lovely sort of seaside town and we went and we rented a car and we parked it in a parking garage and we got a little ticket that you put in the dashboard and we did everything we walked around and then when we got back to the car I saw that there was like a ticket on the windshield.

And I was like, what, like how could I have parked wrong?

Like I was so baffled, I was like, what could this possibly be for and I looked at the ticket when I got there and the violation was parked in wrong direction.

Agreed.

So we had backed the car up into the spot,

which apparently in New Hampshire is quite illegal

And I looked at like the thing that we put in the dashboard to see if

There was any way we could have known this and the ticket says this ticket permits you to

park in accordance with the regulations. I think we all know what those are.

Who doesn't know the regulations in Portsmouth, New Hampshire?

This ticket must be displayed clearly on your vehicle dashboard and the vehicle parked correctly.
