Forgive the cuckoo-clocke-crumark remark, Judy. It just comes back to me,

Orson Welles' performance in the third man in Vienna post-war,

mocking Switzerland because it makes cuckoo clocks.

I have a cuckoo-cloc.

It's a marvel.

So listen, that is technology at the high end.

It has to keep time as long as you wind it.

But I learned from the F.T. this morning that Switzerland's been in a lengthy negotiation

with the EU. The headline, Switzerland stirs Brexit ghosts in push for EU access. Subhead referendum

looms on single market deal that includes concessions on money, migration, and judicial power. All news to me, Judy,

all is not peaceful in the kingdom by the rivers. Switzerland is a beautiful country. It has a

reputation of probity. At the same time, I was unaware that there were this friction with the EU if that is what it is.

And mentioning Brexit, good heavens, Britain's learned to regret its decision.

So is Switzerland in a position to learn from the Brexit fiasco of some years past?

Well, it's not in a position because I've never joined the EU, whereas Britain was in the

EU and it left the EU. There's something that's very worth mentioning is that there's almost

been a sort of touchy relationship between Switzerland and the European Union.

And Switzerland has a special relationship. They belong to the economic

European trade zone. So there's an element of concessions and of advantages. And now what

Switzerland wants more now is a close to the relationship with the EU. I think it's also because
