This is CBS High on the World. I'm John Batser. The recently concluded in Hiroshima, Japan,

G7 meeting. The remarks spoke to the the troubles in Ukraine and the trouble in Europe

with NATO versus the Russian Federation. But there were also statements and many remarks

directed at the People's Republic of China and its aggression. What is to be done? I

welcome Antonio Colabasano of the geopolitical futures. I'll also submit a subscription

side. I highly recommend. She's also professor at the National University for political studies

and public administration in Bucharest, Romania and is now traveling. She's at the military

Academy of Poland in Warsaw for an international conference. But I call upon her to comment

about the G7 in China. It involves many parts of the European aspiration. Antonio, a very

good day to you. The first thing I learned from your column is that Europe is looking to

change its posture towards China, looking to find alternatives in the supply chain. Yes,

and the US is doing that as well. However, I first came across a new idea when you recommend

and I believe the European Union is part of this story, along with the US, of the global

south, attention to the global south, where China is doing extremely well with its belt

and road initiative, though none of the loans are being paid back, but in any event has

a presence. What can the European Union, what can the US do about the global south in

Indeed, it is the very first time that we are actually having a very articulated position

of the G7 towards China. And this focuses on economic coordination between the G7 members

and it looks at coordination with regards to trade agreements and infrastructure in the

global south. That is basically a follow-up of the US and the EU strategy with regards to
