There is much wailing and gnashing of teeth this morning after the USA drone strike wiped out Iran's top general as he arrived at Baghdad airport in Iraq.

The Pentagon has confirmed that Major General Kasim Salimani was killed at the direction, and that's in quotes of President Donald Trump, along with Abu Madi al-Muhandis, the deputy commander of the Iranian-backed militias known as the

popular mobilization forces. Already, Iran is warning of a crushing revenge. Their words on America,

which could result in an attack on U.S. bases in the region, or a strike on Saudi Arabia,

Dubai, or even Israel. General Soleimani was the head of the

elite Kud's force and was accused of orchestrating attacks on coalition bases in Iraq recently,

as well as this week's attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. It's obviously going to be a tense

few days. President Donald Trump has tweeted out simply a huge American flag on his Twitter.

It looks like a bit of an episode of

Homeland to me, but obviously it could be quite serious. We'll be tracking it today and we'll

be tracking it for the whole of the rest of the next week as well to see what the Iranians
