Hello and shaken saints. I'm so glad to have you back. I'm Jared Halverson and we are in the bonus material of the Book of Mormon.

As we said last week, technically we finished. Mormon got us to the end of things and he wrapped things up beautifully, put a bow on it at the end of Mormon chapter 7.

Moroni included a few of his final thoughts to all of us Gentile readers of the last days in chapter 8 and 9,

and we can put the pen down or the stylus or the chisel or whatever they use.

The Book of Mormon officially is over.

And yet, thankfully, starting today, we get this wonderful bonus material at the end of everything.

The first appendix, if we want to call it that.

This first one is the book of Ether, and then we'll get a second appendix in the book of

Moroni, and I'm so grateful that we have them.

But we need to pause and just reflect on the fact that Mormon's work is done,

especially with all that we studied in terms of the parallel accounts

of Mormon's Nephite record versus our last day's experience and the parallelism between the two,

that everything that Mormon did to abridge the large plates of Nephi. So everything we have

from Mosiah through Mormon is meant to be a scale model of the last days.

And so we've come to the end of all that. We passed the coming of Christ and the mini millennium,

the return to wickedness, the Gog and Magog equivalent of Nephite history, and then the closing of everything and the end.

If nothing else, I hope that we've seen our last day's true, and then the closing of everything and the end.

If nothing else, I hope that we've seen our last day's trajectory play out on the pages of the large plates of Nephi through the help of that incredible editor, Mormon himself.

But now that he's passed the baton and his son Moroni is in charge of the plates,

his original thought of just, I'll finish off Dad's record and then bury it and be done.

Well, proved a little premature.

He's got some more time on his hands.
