Hi, everyone. My name's Jane, and I'm an alcoholic. And I am so happy to be here tonight. I've heard

so much about this meeting from so many people. It's really

an honor and a privilege to get asked by Alcoholics Anonymous to do something like this. You know,

the way that I look at it is really anyone in this group could be up here behind the podium

tonight. It just happens to be me tonight. I kind of was secretly wishing when Lyle was asking

for volunteers, does anyone want to get behind the podium and share tonight? Somebody would have raised

their hand and let me off the hook, but here I am. And I want to start out by just saying

how grateful I am to be a part of this precious,

life-saving, life-sustaining, life-giving program of Alcoholics Anonymous.

I am happy to say that my sober date is September 24th, 1996, and my home group is 909 Central Group in

Tallahassee, Florida.

And I have a sponsor, and I sponsor.

And I try to do everything that I can for this program including flying

all the way that the other side of the United States but that actually blows

my mind because I don't really consider myself a speaker I just you know have a

story I think it's a powerful story of hope that I just get up and share and

I'm super nervous.

I actually am dressed for like, I actually bought boots.

I mean, I'm coming to Washington.
