My name's cricket, and I'm an alcoholic.

Hi, Eric.

Hi.

My sobriety date is October the 19th of 1969.

And that's because I've done one thing right since I walked into the doors of Alcoholics Anonymous.

And it's the only thing I've done consistently right for 24 years, and I haven't taken a drink of alcohol.

I've made every mistake sober I ever made drinking.

I learned a few new ones in AA.

In AA, they call them character defects.

When you're drunk, they call them illegal.

But that's okay.

I'm one of those women that Marty was talking about last night.

But it was only after I got in AA that I really thought that men thought that was supposed to be free.

They said it was a sharing program. I thought, uh-uh, darling. A friend of mine was telling me she spent

$12 to come here for an hour. And I said, you can make that back in 30 minutes. And she said,

I'm too old. I said, no, we know how to be real grateful.

My sponsor taught me that I was supposed to disclose in a general way what it used to be like,

what happened, and what it's like today.
