companies don't really control their brands anymore.

It's very, very difficult.

Eric Spiekermann is the typographer behind the Modern Classics

FF Meta and I.C. Ofacina and he's also the information architect

behind some incredibly complex transportation networks.

His work is clean and maybe even a little tutonic looking, but it's also playful, and you might

say it has attitude.

Spiekeman's flown in from Germany to judge the 2012 Type Directors Club Type Face

design competition and having him here in New York City is a special treat.
