I'm Gianna Jalosi with your Fox True Crime Minute. Eric and Lyle Menendez were resentenced

this week to life in prison with the possibility of parole,

setting the stage for their possible release more than three decades after gunning their parents down

in their Beverly Hills Mansion after allegedly enduring years of sexual abuse.

This is a decision that I think will reverberate in the criminal justice system.

The judge saying he was shocked by the number of corrections officials who wrote letters

on behalf of the brothers and testimony from family members who say the brothers turn their

lives around in prison.

They have blossomed into incredible human beings.

They are remarkable men.

District Attorney Nathan Hockman opposed resentencing. But the brothers' future will now be in the

hands of California Governor Gavin Newsom and state parole board officials. The brothers are expected
