Today, we're going to hear about how Tereseo got her nickname, The Little Flower.

We opened this series talking about how prayer is

spending time with Jesus, our friend. Last week, we introduced the idea of fasting as a way to clear

away anything that might distract us from our friendship with Jesus. Now, fasting can also mean

very specific things, like the Eucharistic fast, not eating for one hour before you receive the Eucharist, or it can mean not eating meat or any snacks on Fridays in Lent.

Fasting is like spring cleaning. It's a chance to get rid of anything that distracts us from Jesus.

When we fast, we make space for Jesus to come into our heart. But you might be wondering, what if I'm not good at fasting? What if my stomach growls really loudly? Or what if I get cranky when I don't have a snack? St. Tres has some good answers for us.

When Tres was little, she was a passionate and imaginative little girl.

She would often get in arguments with her sisters.

In fact, she was known for being a little terror if she didn't get her way.

She had a passionate heart, and that came with some big and fiery feelings, too.

And most of all, Tres wanted to be good at everything she did.
